Hi my name is Jesus I''m from Peru.
I have studied English for almost 3 years and recently last month i experienced something that never have happened before. I began to ask my self why tocontinue my studies in English if even find a person who practicen in ENglish is very hard. But thanks to this great advice from this experienced english learners i realised that even thought the main goal for learning a new language is the possibility to someday be able to speak the language and have fluency conversations with natives, there are other things that we can take advantages too like for example : Take courses, to watch moviesn without having to follow the subtitles and all that great things that we can do if we are able to speak another language. Thanks for make me realise this.
Take care Bye!

I really like your positive mental attitude, I've tried to learn Hebrew for almost 6 years but I'm aware I only spent 5 hours every 6 months. So I know why I can't say more than 2 sentences, and I regularly forget how to count -until I read my book again.

As for me, I try to keep in touch with English by listening to podcasts and interchanging with other tools like TV series, magazines and even cartoons. That's the way I manage to keep my motivation, even though I acknowledge that it tends to fall after visiting a country where your target language us spoken and manage to get by, as happen to me.
Thanks for this amazing post and for the valuable advice provided by the experts.
