For another fun app which offers some gamified features, try the PhraseBot app (http://www.phrasebotapp.com/).

The PhraseBot has various modes for answering questions about words, phrases, and sentences in ways that develop active rather than just passive knowledge (as with apps that just use multiple choice questions). Any flashcard sets from the excellent Quizlet flashcard website (www.quizlet.com) can be imported into the app, with review and progress tracking functions.
